Bruno Wildbach was born on the 26th of November, 1964 in Eibiswald, a small town in the west of Styria. From 1985 to 1992 he studied art history at Karl-Franzens University as well as architecture at the Technical University of Graz.
An inquiring discourse with reality underlies the art of Bruno Wildbach. Wildbach's paintings are dense with the symbols of the humanistic tradition subtly blended with his own very personal vision.
Wildbach's images are a sequence of destinies. These destinies, which provoke in his work contact between the imaginary and the real, are overlaid with a logical fantasy; representing a movement which tries less to express the world, rather more the possibility for existing in it.
Wildbach avoids a fixed style; his work escapes understanding. It is simply too diverse, and is barely classifiable by international standards. Bruno Wildbach is a maverick in the Austrian art scene.
